Sussex Teachers are working with a small village primary school near Battle to find an Early Years Teacher for the summer term.

This Church of England Primary is a very popular and over-subscribed rural school. Based near Battle, East Sussex and a 15-minute drive from the coast the school is a mix of modern and Victorian buildings and is an idyllic place to spend your working day. Describing themselves as friendly and hardworking, the school strives to meet the highest standards for their pupils and their staff. As a Nurture Project school, they see both staff and pupil well-being as central to their continued success and pride themselves on their inclusive and supportive school community.

We are looking for a passionate and committed Reception teacher to join the school immediately after the Easter holidays and work until the end of this academic year. With only 14 pupils in your class, you will be responsible for continuing the outstanding progress they have made in their first 2 terms of school. Working with a full-time and experienced Teaching Assistant who already knows the class, it will be your responsibility to deliver effective teaching, learning and assessment to support the achievement of all pupils.

Please note, to be considered for this position you must have Qualified Teacher Status and experience in teaching Early Years (this can be through school placement as NQT’s will be considered). This is a long-term teaching position, and so you must be able to take on full class teaching responsibility and be happy to plan, prepare and assess your students work as well as attend parent’s evenings and staff meetings. We are looking for a teacher with high aspirations for you and the children you teach, who is passionate, Imaginate and creative in your teaching approach. Although you do not need to be Christian, you should be able to support the ethos of a Church of England school.

As your workload will be that of a usual Class Teacher, you will be “paid to scale” for this assignment and you will be invited to attend any CPD training the school offer.
