Early Years teaching job

M1 - UPS
Primary Academy

Sussex Teachers are working with a primary academy in Hastings to find an Early Years class teacher. This happy and welcoming school require a Reception teacher to join them from the October half term (or earlier) until the end of the academic year.

This primary Academy is a happy and welcoming school that is continuing to grow from strength to strength. The schools current Headteacher and Associate Headteacher joined in September 2017 and over the past year have transformed the school, bringing about rapid improvement in terms of academic achievement, musical opportunities, sporting success and building developments. With a recent Ofsted recently (May 2018) grading the school as Good (previously Requires Improvement), pupils, parents and staff are overwhelmingly positive about the changes made over the last year.

You will be joining a supportive school community, with opportunities to plan and work alongside your parallel class teacher and phase leader. There are currently two Reception classes in the school, with a team of experienced and skilled teaching assistants to assist you in the classroom. Good long and medium term plans are in place, and it will be your responsibility to adjust these according to the needs of your class.

The successful teacher will hold high standards and expectations, and ideally have recent experience teaching in the Early Years. You will need to plan, prepare and assess their students work and take on full class teaching responsibility. You will be a committed teacher, happy to take on class teaching responsibilities with parents’ evenings, staff meetings, and school trips a required part of the role. This is a long-term supply teaching position to begin either immediately, before or after the October half term, depending on your availability.

As your workload will be that of a usual Class Teacher, you will be “paid to scale” for this assignment and you will be invited to attend any CPD training the school and its MAT offer. The school is part of a large and successful Multi Academy Trust, with over 40 Primary and Secondary Academies in its family. This academy is proud to support growing leaders, as well as giving their teachers the skills, knowledge and expertise to embark on the next stage of their career. For the right teacher, there is an opportunity to be taken on permanently providing you would like the position and the school are happy with your work so far.

If you would like to teach polite, enthusiastic and hardworking learners and are available from October half term (or sooner) please get in touch with Kim at Sussex Teachers on 01273 626800. If this role isn’t quite right for you but you are interested in joining Sussex Teachers for supply roles, please get in touch today to register with us and receive our job alert updates.
