Sussex Teachers are working with a large community primary school in Lewes to find a temporary nursery practitioner. This thriving and happy school are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistants to begin immediately.  

You will be working in a school where pupils behave well and are enthusiastic learners. The school has been described as exceptionally harmonious with staff, governors and leadership committed to empowering every child to be the best that they can be. With panoramic views of the South Downs, the school is beautifully situated in the north of Lewes and is a 20 minute walk from Lewes train station.

The nursery caters to children aged 3 – 4 years and is a setting where young children can learn and play through exploration, new experiences and a creative indoor and outdoor environment full of possibilities. The nursery is part of the whole school community and they work closely with the Reception classes. Pupils share their learning environment when Reception and Nursery children free-flow between their learning spaces.

You will have a sound knowledge of the current Early Years Foundation Stage, with recent experience working in a Nursery or Reception class. You will hold level 3 qualifications in NNEB, BTEC Nat Dip, CACHE Dip in Childcare, NVQ level 3 or SVQ Level 3.  You must have a minimum of 3 months recent experience working in Early Years and be able to evidence this through Good references. Due to the immediacy of the role you must have a valid DBS and be signed into the Update Service or prepared to apply for a new certificate as soon as possible.

You will be paid a competitive hourly rate and once registered with Sussex Teachers will have exclusive access to TA and INA roles at our partnership schools. We work closely with schools across Sussex to find education staff for both temporary and part time roles and will work on your behalf to find roles that suit you and your career. When this assignment is completed you will benefit from working with a specialist education consultant who can assist you in finding future roles.
