Sussex Teachers are working with a large junior school in Eastbourne to find a KS2 teacher from December 2018 until the end of this academic year. This community primary school require an experienced Year 3 Class Teacher to for a fixed term maternity contract to finish in July 2019.

This junior school is a three-form entry junior school that aims to provide an enriched and exciting curriculum that encourages pupils to become independent and resilient. The school aims to promote lifelong love of learning for everyone and believe that creating inspirational experiences will foster independence and build self-belief allowing learners to constantly grow. Based in central Eastbourne, the school is only a 15-minute walk from Eastbourne train station and is located close to regular bus routes.

You will be teaching from a broad and balanced curriculum, where subjects are interwoven to create exciting learning experiences. Working alongside your parallel class teachers you will plan exciting lessons that are appropriately differentiated and engaging to the learners in your class. You will teach in a classroom that is spacious and modern, with a purpose made, shared work space alongside the 2 other Year 3 classes. You will have access to a large call and a further multipurpose music / dance room as well as a library and a purpose-built food technology and nurture area. The school has invested in a range of laptops and tablets, so all pupils can enjoy lessons using the wireless network.

In order to be considered for this long-term supply teaching position you must have QTS status. Please note, due to the schools structuring they unfortunately are unable to support an NQT with their induction year. The school are interested from hearing from teachers who are able to work full time and take on full class teaching responsibility which means you should be happy to plan, prepare and assess your pupils work, as well as to attend parent’s evenings and staff meetings.

As your workload will be that of a usual Class Teacher, you will be “paid to scale” for this assignment and you will be invited to attend any CPD training the school offer during the school year. This is a maternity cover post to begin on Monday the 3rd of December and you will be required to work until the end of this academic year. Although this is a fixed term contract the school have confirmed they would be happy to offer a permanent contract to should the placement run successfully and that a vacancy arises next September.
