KS2 class teacher job

M1 - UPS
Small Catholic Primary School
Seaford, East Sussex

Sussex Teachers are working with a small Catholic primary school in Seaford to find a KS2 teacher to join them immediately after half term (25th of February) and work until the end of this academic year.

A recent school Ofsted has commended the pupil’s positive behaviour and good relationships with each other and their teachers. This underpins the school’s strong sense of community and provides a welcoming environment to teach engaging lessons and inspire learning. Although one form entry, the school collaborates with an Outstanding secondary school which has brought a wide range of beneficial opportunities including the Inspire Teaching School Alliance and the Sussex Maths Hub.

This is a class teaching position, meaning you will be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils your Year 4 class. It will be your responsibility to plan and prepare engaging lessons from the schools current long and medium-term plans. You will be responsible for writing end of year reports and attending parents’ evenings. The school would also like for you to join their weekly staff meetings, as you should become a fully integrated member of their staff team.

In order to be considered for this long-term supply teaching position you must hold Qualified Teacher Status. The successful candidate will have a commitment to achieving high standards both for themselves and the children that they teach. You will be able to create and deliver excellent learning experiences and be able to demonstrate and develop high quality class room practice. Although a religious school, we do not require you to be a practicing Catholic, you merely need to support the ethos of the school and their community.

As your workload will be that of a usual Class Teacher, you will be “paid to scale” for this assignment and you will be invited to attend any CPD training the school offer during the school year. There is potential for this placement to become permanent should you wish to apply in September 2019. The school are committed to supporting and developing staff at every stage of their career. They have a strong track record of supporting teachers of all levels, from NQT’s up to those looking towards taking on leadership roles including senior leadership and Headship.

If you would like to find out more information about this role, please apply now with either a CV or Job application form. If this role isn’t quite right for you but you are interested in joining Sussex Teachers for daily supply roles please call on 01273 626800 and ask for Kim.
