Sussex Teachers are working with an independent Preprep and Nursery in Eastbourne to find ad hoc bank staff. This thriving nursery are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioners to join them as soon as possible.

Situated in the Meads area of Eastbourne and with panoramic views of the South Downs and the seafront, the nursery school is located within two school buildings separated by age groups. The nursery caters to children aged 3 months – 5 years and is open 51 weeks a year, only closing between Christmas and New Year. The Nursery and Baby Unit opened three years ago and caters for families with children under the age of two-and-a-half. After that age, children are transitioned over the road to their new home, a large and beautiful Edwardian house which also houses their Reception and Key Stages one classes.

You will support Key Persons in providing a caring and nurturing environment, guiding every child in your care to become curious, confident and inspired. Ideally, you will be available to begin at 8am and work until either 4pm or 6pm when the nursery closes. You will be given a 30-minute (unpaid) lunch break with a free hot lunch and the option to take an additional (unpaid) 20-minute break in the afternoon. We require practitioners who can take on both pre booked cover work and also last-minute sickness calls, and so you should be prepared to take on work with very little notice.

You will have a sound knowledge of the current Early Years Foundation Stage, with recent experience working in a Nursery or Reception class. You will hold level 3 qualifications in NNEB, BTEC Nat Dip, CACHE Dip in Childcare, NVQ level 3 or SVQ Level 3.  You must have a minimum of 3 months recent experience working in Early Years and be able to evidence this through Good references. Before starting we require you to hold a valid DBS certificate, which can either be processed through our agency or signed up to the Update Service.

You will be paid a competitive hourly rate and once registered with Sussex Teachers will have exclusive access to Nursery Practitioner roles at our partnership schools. We work closely with schools across Sussex to find education staff for both temporary and part time roles and will work on your behalf to find roles that suit you and your career. When this assignment is completed you will benefit from working with a specialist education consultant who can assist you in finding future roles.

If you would like to work in this happy and special nursery call us on 01273 626800 for more information or click apply now.
