Part-time KS2 teaching job

M1 - M6
Small Catholic Primary School
Seaford, East Sussex

Sussex Teachers are working with a small Catholic primary school in Seaford to find a part time KS2 teacher for a Year 4 job share. This happy and vibrant school require an enthusiastic teacher to join them from September 2019 and teach 2 days a week on a long-term supply or permanent contract.

A recent school Ofsted has commended the pupil’s positive behaviour and good relationships with each other and their teachers. This underpins the school’s strong sense of community and provides a welcoming environment to teach engaging lessons and inspire learning. Although one form entry, the school collaborates with an Outstanding secondary school which has brought a wide range of beneficial opportunities including the Inspire Teaching School Alliance and the Sussex Maths Hub.

This is a class teaching position, meaning you will share the responsibility for the learning and achievement of pupils in your Year 4 class. Good quality daily plans (provided by a partner school) will be provided for you to work from, though these will need to be tweaked to suit the needs of your class. You will share responsibility with your job share partner for writing end of year reports and attending parents’ evenings. Ideally you will be available on Monday and Tuesdays, however the school are able to consider you working on Thursday and Fridays too.

In order to be considered for this long-term supply teaching position you must hold Qualified Teacher Status. The successful candidate will have a commitment to achieving high standards both for themselves and the children that they teach. You will be able to create and deliver excellent learning experiences and be able to demonstrate and develop high quality class room practice. Although a religious school, we do not require you to be a practicing Catholic, you merely need to support the ethos of the school and their community.

As your workload will be that of a usual Class Teacher, you will be paid a higher daily rate to reflect your additional responsibility. There is potential for this placement to become permanent should you wish to apply after trialling the placement on long-term supply. The school are committed to supporting and developing staff at every stage of their career. They have a strong track record of supporting teachers of all levels, from NQT’s up to those looking towards taking on leadership roles including senior leadership and Headship.

If you would like to find out more information about this role, please apply now with either a CV or Job application form. If this role isn’t quite right for you but you are interested in joining Sussex Teachers for daily supply roles please call on 01273 626800 and ask for Kim.
