Large junior school (LEA)
UK

Crawley, West Sussex
Contract:
Temp/Contract

Sussex Teachers are working with a large primary school in Crawley to find a part time SENDCo/SENCO/ALNCo. This junior school requires an experienced Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Coordinator to join them at the end of September to cover a long-term maternity contract.

This successful and oversubscribed school has just been listed within the top five primaries in West Sussex in the 2020 Real Schools Guide. Their most recent Ofsted report rated them as “Good” in all areas, and staff describe the school as well led. Parents and carers praise the schools warm and friendly atmosphere and pupils are extremely proud of their school and achievements.

Working part-time, 3 days a week, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEN policy, assisting class teachers in the identification and support of children with Special Education Needs. Proportion of pupils who have SEN and or disabilities in this school is above the national average and you will be responsible for the assessment and monitoring of these children. You will write statements/EHCP’s and will work closely with SEND children, their families, and external agencies to support their education and wellbeing.

We are looking for an experienced SENDCO who consistently delivers good outcomes and progress for all pupils. You will have a commitment and passion for inclusion, ensuring individual pupil needs are identified early and are met through targeted provision. Ideally you will already hold the National SENCO Award (or be willing to undertake this) and the ability to lead and inspire pupils and staff so that they develop a real thirst for learning and improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference, working alongside a strong and effective leadership team with high aspirations for their pupils. If you are an experienced SENDCO who can guarantee great progress for every child, please get in touch with Kim at Sussex Teachers on 01273 626800 for more information.
