Sussex Teachers are working with a large primary school in Peacehaven to find a Year 1 teacher for a long-term supply contract. This community primary school near Brighton are looking for someone to join their KS1 team from Easter until the end of this academic year.

This supportive and caring school are looking for an experienced KS1 teacher to join their team for the summer term. Only six miles east of Brighton, the school is a 20-minute car journey and a 30-minute bus ride from the city centre. The Headteacher describes her team as “wonderful” and the school environment as “friendly, caring and purposeful”. Behaviour of pupils across the school are good and pupils are eager to learn and kind to each other.

With 28 students within your class, you will be joining the schools bulge year with 3 classes across the Year 1 team. Good long-term plans are already in place and you will benefit from shared planning time with your parallel class teachers. You will be supported by an experienced class teaching assistant every morning and will also work with the school’s resident forest school teacher for an outside learning session each week.

You will be joining a successful and popular school with high expectations for their children, staff and governors. As this is a class teaching role you will be “paid to scale” for the duration of this assignment, with this being an excellent opportunity for a teacher who would enjoy the security and job satisfaction of long-term teaching but isn’t able to commit to a permanent role.
