Year 5 class teacher job

M2 - UPS3
2 form entry primary school
Newhaven, East Sussex

Sussex Teachers are working with a large primary school in Newhaven to find a KS2 Class Teacher to work from the start of March until the end of this academic year. The school are looking for an experienced teacher to join their Year 5 team and are looking to interview as soon as possible.

This two-form entry school was newly formed in January 2013, following the closure of a junior and an infant school. The school site is modern and fresh, with attractive classrooms and open activity areas for all year groups. Ofsted observed the school in 2016 as Good, with effective leadership and a carefully developed sense of community. Parents are supportive of the school, and pupils are positive about learning with good behaviour. The Headteacher (a local leader of education) holds a clear vision for her school which unites staff, governors, families and children.

You will be joining the schools “bulge” year, with 3 classes in the Year 5 year group. This is a Class Teaching role, with full teaching responsibility for planning, preparation and assessment. Good long-term plans are already in place and you will have the opportunity to plan with your year group partners during your non-contact time. Though the placement is to begin on the 5th of March, the school are hoping you are able to come in beforehand to go through a comprehensive handover with the current class teacher and meet your new pupils.

This caring and happy school are hoping to hear from inspirational and experienced Class Teachers, ideally with recent experience teaching in upper KS2. Please note that the school are unfortunately unable to support NQT’s and so you must have completed your induction year to be eligible for this role. As this is a class teaching role you will be “paid to scale” for the duration of this assignment, with this being an excellent opportunity for a teacher who would like the security and job satisfaction of long term teaching but isn’t able to commit to a permanent role.

If you would like to find out more information about this long-term supply teaching job please get in touch on 01273 626800 and ask for Kim.
