A large and forward-thinking school with creativity, ambition, and drive, is looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in one of their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) classes. This position starts ASAP and is to run until the end of April.

This primary academy is based in Worthing, West Sussex and has recently been graded 'Good' at Ofsted, with recognition for its significant improvements since joining their trust in 2018. The school holds an incredibly inclusive ethos that celebrates its diverse school community, welcoming every child, parent/carer and staff member's differences and championing their unique abilities and cultural backgrounds. They boast a creative curriculum that ensures all children are constantly challenged and have lots of fun whilst doing so. Located a 15-minute walk from East Worthing train station, and close to regular bus routes from Brighton and Chichester the school is easy to access via public transport. A large and safe staff car park is also available to use.

Supported by a friendly and experienced team of SENCO, teachers, and senior leaders, you will work full-time (30 hours a week) as a general classroom teaching assistant. Educating within the Early Years will involve fun and creative lessons with play-based learning activities. You will significantly contribute to children’s development and learning with imaginative play and exploration of their environment; both in and outside the classroom. Supporting the class teacher, you encourage children to learn new skills, overcome challenges and grow into engaged and enthusiastic learners. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of inspiring and exciting lessons, promoting high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
  • Contribute to the promotion of inclusive education, helping to create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment.

Requirements

  • Recent experience working with children, either within a classroom, nursery, medical or care home setting.
