Full Time Intervention Teacher

£131.86 - £189.54 per day
Small C of E primary school in Brighton
Brighton, East Sussex

Sussex Teachers are working with a small C of E Primary school in Brighton to find a full time intervention teacher to begin as soon as possible. We are looking for a teacher with experience of running interventions in both Maths and English and is able to teach from Year 2 to Year 6.

Our client is a small, friendly and kind primary school who are looking for a teacher to join them asap on a full time basis until at least Easter. You will be working in a nurturing learning environment, where children are enthusiastic about learning and are well mannered and polite. The school aspires to create lifelong, reflective learners, equipping children with knowledge, skills and understanding to help them to make informed choices throughout their lives.

You will be employed to provide targeted support to fill gaps in pupils learning. The class teachers will inform you where these gaps are, and it will be your responsibility to consolidate their learning, either by revisiting previous work or tackling subjects from a different angle. Your focus will be to accelerate progress with these students, making improvements in their mathematics, writing and reading. It will also be your responsibility to accurately track your pupils progress, so their class teachers have a clearer understanding of the progress pupils are making and where they may need further support.

To be suitable for this intervention teaching post you will have an excellent grasp of the primary curriculum. You should hold high expectations for your pupils, and have a commitment ensuring that every child succeeds. We are looking for a teacher who is happy to plan and prepare for these afternoon sessions, though resources and previous work will be shared with you to give you a solid understanding of your pupil’s previous learning. We do also ask that you mark the work that you have taught and provide feedback notes for the class teacher at the end of the day.

You will be teaching small groups (up to 6 pupils a time) with students from Year 2 all the way up to Year 6. This would be an ideal role for a supply teacher who enjoys the security and job satisfaction of long-term teaching but doesn’t want to commit to a full class teaching role with the additional paper work and responsibility that this entails.

If you would like to find out more information about this intervention teaching job please apply online or call us on 01273 626 800 and ask for Kim for more details.
