Are you looking for a new teaching assistant job in central Brighton paying up to £80 a day?

A small school in the town centre of Brighton are looking to find an individual needs assistant (INA) or SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA) to join their key stage 1 team as soon as possible. You will be joining a school ‘with a big heart’, with a community feel that embodies the diverse culture of Brighton city centre. You will be working with leaders who value freedom of expression (children don’t wear school uniforms) and relationships are built on mutual respect (first names are used for all students, staff, and parents). Due to its town-centre location, the school is easily accessed by public transport, situated a 10-minute walk from Brighton train station or a 3-minute walk from Churchill Square bus stops.

Supported by a friendly and experienced team of SENCO, teachers, and senior leaders, you will work full-time (30 hours a week) on a 1:1 basis with a child who has SEND/SEMH needs. You will play a crucial role in supporting this student both in and out of the classroom, assisting with their social, emotional, and academic progress. Working closely with this pupil you will tailor support to meet their specific needs, facilitating their personal growth and giving you a strong sense of purpose and job satisfaction. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of inspiring and exciting lessons, promoting high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
  • Supporting a specific student, you will actively contribute to the promotion of inclusive education, fostering a more inclusive and accepting school culture.

Requirements

  • Recent experience working with children, either within a classroom, nursery, medical or care home setting.
